National Cadet Corps (NCC) 2017-18 : Creating Milestones
With 160 enrolled cadets, the vibrant and industrious National Cadet Corps (NCC) wing of Lakshmibai College continued striding ahead 2017-18.
A milestone was created by our ex-student JUO Megha Rawat Reg. No. DLW/SW/12/41078 who topped the Merit List of NCC Special Entry Scheme to join Indian Army with her determination and dedication.
It was indeed a proud moment when SUO Vaishnawi Kharbanda got the opportunity to meet our Honorable Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi along with the Army Chief, Navy Chief, Air Chief, Defence Minister, Defence Secretary and Chief Minister of Delhi during the Republic Day Parade-2018, wherein she was awarded Gold Medal for being the Best Master of Ceremony (Anchor) in All India. She along with LCPL Ritu represented Delhi Directorate in the Cultural Programme of the venerated RDC 2018.
In the prestigious PM Rally, LCPL Ritu represented Delhi Directorate in Squad Drill; while JUO Anjali, SGT Shivani Sharma, CPL Karishma, SGT Pooja, SGT Vanshita, CDT Meenu, CDT Priyanka, CDT Preeti and CDT Pooja participated in its cultural activities. In the same camp, CDT Shiwani performed adventurous Para-slithering and made us proud by being the Best among all.
In All India Thal Sainik Camp (TSC), SUO Vaishanvi Kharbanda participated in the Finals while CDT Jyoti attened its pre-final cadre with her immense hardwork.
LCPL Laxmi participated in CM Rally on Independence Day; while LCPL Namrata participated in it on the occasion of Republic Day. JUO Rashmi Dixit participated in the Advance Leadership Camp (ALC) held at Malout, Punjab. JUO Anuradha Singh and CPL Lovely got an opportunity to knock the venturesome Trekking Camp at Baijnath, Himachal Pradesh. CQMH Neha and CPL Aysha participated in Trekking at Ajmer.
06 of our cadets participated in the National Integration Camp (NIC) at Chamba, Uttarakhand and secured 1st position in Group Dance, 2nd position in Debate (SUO Vaishnawi), 3rd prize in National Integration Awareness Programme (NIAP), and the Best Cadet Award (SUO Vaishnawi). The participants were SUO Vaishnawi, S0GT Anjali, SGT Pooja, SGT Shivani Sharma, SGT Vanshita, CQMH Jyoti. Two of our cadets CDT Shabana and CDT Lata took part in another National Integration Camp (NIC) held at Delhi.
90 cadets participated in the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) held at Safdarjung under the guidance of JUO Rashmi and SGT Vaishali. In this Camp, our cadets secured 1st prize in Group Song, 1st prize in Solo Dance (Aarushi), 2nd prize in Relay Race, 2nd prize in Group Dance, 3rd prize in Skit, and 3rd prize in Squad Drill competition; while JUO Anuradha Singh was selected as the Camp senior.
Out cadets continued their marvelous performance at NCC Festivals organized by various colleges and walked away with top honours in several activities. Our cadets stood 1st in Squad Drill competition at Miranda House; 1st in Guard and 1st in Best Cadet (SUO Vaishnawi) at Dyal Singh College; 1st in Drill, 2nd in Guard and 1st in Group Dance at SPM College; 1st in Drill and 2nd in Guard at JDM College; 1st in Rangoli, 1st in Group Dance, 1st in Solo Dance (CDT Preeti), and 1st in Guard at SGND Khalsa College; 2nd in Guard and 2nd in Group Dance at Aurobindo College; 1st in Best Cadet (LCPL Ritu), 1st in Drill, and 1st in Group Dance at Rajdhani College; 1st in Best Cadet (SUO Vaishnawi), 2nd in Drill, and 2nd in Group Dance at Zakir Hussain College; 1st in Guard, 1st in Drill, and 1st in Group Dance at Kalindi College; 2nd in Drill and 2nd in Guard at Shaheed Bhagat Singh College; and 1st in Solo Dance (CDT Preeti) at Swami Shradhanand College. The winning momentum is going on and our cadets are still performing in various competitions being organized by different colleges.
ANO Lt. (Dr.) Seema Kaushik (Sharma) also represented Delhi Directorate in the Special National Integration Camp (SNIC) held at Peddapuram from Oct. 5 to 16, 2017. She was awarded Veerta Puraskar by the NGO Veerta fot being the Best Assoiate NCC Officer. She also secured a Gold Medal (200m) and a Silver Medal (400m) in the Delhi State Masters Athletics Meet at Thyagraj Stadium.
Our cadets performed Guard of Honour to the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University on the occasion of Independence Day 2017; while 32 cadets participated in International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2017 at the centralized location, SPM College. NCC Cadets also stayed firm on the pledge taken to keep Delhi clean as a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Programme and devoted days in picking up waste materials and sweep the unclean premises and conducted a Rally for the same.
The Commanding Officer of 7Delhi Girls Bn. Col. Ram Naresh was the Chief Guest; while our Ex-NCC cadets Preeti Hooda (Qualified Civil Services Exam); and Cpt. Juhi (Indian Army) were the Guest of Honour on the occasion of NCC Annual Prize Distribution Function held on 4th May, 2017.
With all the inspiring tales, NCC wing is in the process of conducting its first ever Inter College NCC Festival ‘Junoon’ and organize a career oriented talk for the cadets.

National Cadet Corps (NCC)
With 160 enrolled cadets, the vibrant and industrious National Cadet Corps (NCC) wing of Lakshmibai College continued streaking ahead during 2016-17 as well.
It was indeed a proud moment when LCPL Aarushi Nainwal got the opportunity to meet the Honourable President of India Mr. Pranab Mukherjee while representing Army wing of NCC and tie him a Rakhi on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. A Skit on Open Defecation was telecasted live on Delhi Doordarshan, which was prepared and performed by our cadets during CATC.
08 of our cadets participated in the prestigious PM Rally-2017 in which CQMH Priya participated in Para-slithering; LCPL Supriya Chauhan & CDT Priya participated in Para-Sailing; while CPL Anuradha, CPL Harpreet, LCPL Vaishnawi, LCPL Anjali & CDT Karishma participated in Cultural events.
JUO Ruchi and CQHM Priya attended the Special National Integration Camp (SNIC) held at Port Blair; SUO Aarti Kumari participated in the Advance Leadership Camp (ALC) held at Agra; LCPL Aarushi Nainwal participated in the Army Attachment Camp (AAC) held at Meerut; LCPL Vaishnawi Kharbanda made us proud while becoming a participant at the Amar Jawan Jyoti (AJJ) and performing Wreath Laying Ceremony; LCPL Anuradha, LCPL Bhumika, CDT Lalita and CDT Bhumika participated in the National Integration-cum-Combined Annual Training Camp (NIC-cum-CATC) held at Delhi Cantt. Our 04 cadets took part in the Chief Minister’s Rally-2017 for the first time.
JUO Ruchi and JUO Ritika performed piloting in the Opening ceremony of NCC National Games 2017, while 36 cadets performed on the occasion of closing ceremony of the same.
Our 90 cadets attended the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) at DG NCC Parade Ground Delhi Cantt from 12th to 21st August, 2016 along with the ANO. In this camp, we got 1st prize in Drill, Line Area, Group Dance, Nukkad Natak, Talent Round; and stood 2nd in Group Song, Poster making, and Slogan writing.
Our cadets continued their marvelous performance in different NCC Festivals organized by various colleges and walked away with top honour in various activities. We stood first in Drill Competition at Aditi, Deshbandhu, Kalindi & Shyamlal College while 2nd at ARSD, Satyawati, SGTB Khalsa & Zakir Hussain College. In Quarter Guard Competition, our college team secured 1st position at Aditi, SGTB Khalsa & SPM College; and bagged 2nd position at Deshbandhu, Miranda House, Satyawati, SGND Khalsa, Shivaji and Shyamlal College. Our Group Dance performers won the 1st position in NCC fests held at ARSD, Deshbandhu, SGND Khalsa, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shyamlal and Zakir Hussain College; and secured 2nd position at Gargi & Satyawati College. In Solo Dance, Vaishnawi and Anjali bagged 1st position at Shyamlal College and Aditi Mahavidyalaya. JUO Ritika won the Best Cadet Award at Shyamlal College.
International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June, 2016, preceded by a one-week training programme beginning on 14th June, 2016 in collaboration with Dhyan Yog Foundation and Bharatiya Yog Sansthan. More than 125 people including students, teaching faculty, non-teaching staff members, NCC representatives from 7 Delhi Girls Bn. and guests from NCC, Bharatiya Yoga Sansthan and Gandhi Peace Foundation actively and enthusiastically performed yoga throughout the camp and final performance, inspiring each other to make yoga part of the regular schedule. Dr. Subbarao (Director, National Youth Project) was the Chief Guest on the occasion who inspired the youth by his exemplary lifestyle and energetic patriotic song.
In a first of its own kind Residential Youth Motivation Camp, 40 cadets stayed in the Campus, learnt numerous national integrating activities, carried social awareness rallies, cleaned college campus, painted notice boards, and performed a heart throbbing dance showing culture of all the states of India in the Park of Lawrence Road that attracted wide audience and parents’ participation.
Being responsible, NCC cadets stayed firm on the pledge taken to keep Delhi clean as a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan programme and devoted days to pick up waste material and broom the unclean areas of our college premises; attended lecture and carried Rally on Water Conservation Day. Cadets also created awareness among masses regarding Road Safety and traffic rules on 10th April, 2017.
Lt.(Dr.) Seema Kaushik, the ANO secured two Gold Medals (4x100 & 4x400m Relay) in the 19th Asia Masters Athletics Championship held at Singapore from 4th to 8th May, 2016.
Apart from the activities undertaken on regular basis, NCC Cadets forms a part of the college Proctorial team to volunteer their assistance in various college activities throughout the session. The activities include celebration of Independence Day and Republic Day; conduct of National Seminar in the College; conduct of 1st Open Delhi State Judo Championship for Women on the occasion of International Women’s Day; helping new students during admissions; and maintaining discipline during different functions and occasions.

SURGICAL STRIKE



  • ON the Occasion of 2nd anniversary of SURGICAL STRIKE celebrated surgical strike day by college . A small events was conducted by college. In the event a motivational video was displayed to the cadets to motivate about Indian Army . some speeches was given by cadets and by A.N.O. Lt. (Dr.) Seema Sharma (Kaushik). . Total 122 cadets participated in the event.


KARGIL DIVAS PRAKARAM PARADE

  • ON the celebration of KARGIL DIVAS PRAKARAM PARADE Was held at INDIA GATE from cannaught place to india gate in the memory of martyrs. Total 35 cadets participated in the parade.

INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY


ON the occasion of INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY a residential youth motivational camp was held at lakshmibai college . This programme was organised by LAKSHMIBAI COLEEGE. During the programme many events were happened like morning yoga, motivational lectures . In this camp a programme called “BHARAT KI SANTAAN” was conducted by college. It was a five day camp from 17-jun-2018 to 22-jun-2018. In camp students had with them principal of college Dr. Pratyush Vatsala, Ncc incharge Lt. (Dr.)   Seema Sharma (Kaushik),NSS incharge Dr. Sangeeta Sharma and other faculty mameber. Total 35 cadets participated in this camp

SWATCH BHARAT ABHIYAAN

Under the refrence to letter no. 2327/SS/DG NCC/Trg.A Dated 23rd April 2018, WAZIRPUR VILLAGE and a STATUE of lakshmibai college was adoped by LAKSHMIBAI COLLEGE for the cleanliness under the SWATCH BHARAT ABHIYAAN. The following activities was carried out by college :-
  • ON 26-MAY-2018 the statue of Lakshmibai college was cleaned by ncc cadets and a rally to aware the people about cleanliness a rally was conducted by college. There was total 35 cadets are present with A.N.O. Lt.(Dr.) Seema Sharma (Kaushik).

  • ON 26-JUN-2018 to aware the people about drugs and smoking a rally on the occasion of INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUGS ABUSE along with banners and posters  was carried out by Ncc cadets. There was total 40 cadets are present.

  • ON 04-AUG-2018 to aware the people of village about swatchta a rally was started from one edge to last edge of village with posters and slogans. Cadets swept the village, streets . There was total 64 cadets are present.


  • ON 05-AUG-2018 a NUKKAD NATAK on SWATCHTA was displayed by cadets to taught the people that uncleanliness how affect  them and withdrawn a rally at wazirpur village. There was toatal 76 cadets are present.



  • ON 11-AUG-2018 activity of cleaning the statue was done by the cadets . There was total 71 cadets are present.


  • ON 19-SEP-2018 “SWACHTA HI SEWA H “-SHRAMDAN-cleaning of streets, drains  and back alley cleanliness drive was held at wazirpur village. The village was cleaned by cadets with cleaning  material like broom and dustbins etc. there was total cadets 115 are present with A.N.O. Lt.(Dr.) Seema Sharma (Kaushik) and SUB. Sachin Rai.



  • ON 22-SEP-2018  under the swatchta abhiyaan cleanliness drive was held at wazirpur village. The village was cleaned by cadets .They swept the village , cleaned the streets and picked the garbage from streets to dustbin. They cleaned the statue of lakshmibai college . There was total 115 cadets are present with A.N.O. Lt.(Dr.) Seema Sharma (Kaushik) and SUB. Arun Kumar.


  • ON 24-SEP-2018 “SWACHTA HI SEWA H “-SHRAMDAN-MASS MOBILIZATION FOR CONSTRUCTION OF COMPOST PITS campaign and a rally was carried out at wazirpur village to taught people about  importance of compost pits. There was total 29 cadets are present with A.N.O. Lt.(Dr.) Seema Sharma (Kaushik) and SUB. Arun Kumar.

  • ON 29-SEP-2018 A NUKKAD NATTAK on sanitary hygiene  was conducted by ncc cadets of lakshmibai college under the “SWACHTA HI SEWA H “-SHRAMDAN-MASS AWARENESS CAMPAIGN FOR BETTER SANITARY PRACTICES IN DAILY LAIFE at wazirpur village .  There was total 51 cadets are present with A.N.O. Lt.(Dr.) Seema Sharma (Kaushik) and SUB. Arun Kumar.

INTRODUCTION

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the largest voluntary uniformed youth organisation, where the enrolled cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. Training in NCC instills qualities like unity, discipline, patriotism, team spirit, esprit-de-corps, leadership, self-confidence and promotes personality development irrespective of caste,creed,religion or economic status.
The vibrant and dynamic NCC wing of LAKSHMIBAI COLLEGE under 7 Delhi Girls Battalion, Kirti Nagar is continuously scalling new heights.The enrolled 160 cadets participate in weekly training each Saturday.The training comprises of drills,lectures,cleanliness drive and inter class competitions within the college premises.Our cadets also get exposure to various related activities though camps organised both within and outside Delhi. NCC trains its cadets in drill, signalling, weapon training, map reading, civil defence, first-aid, home-nursing etc. during different camps including Annual Training(ATC), National Integration(NIC), Army Attachment(ACC), Basic Leadership(BLC),Advance Leadership(ALC), Personality Development(PDC), Officers' Training (OTA), Thai Sainik (TSC), Prime Minister's Rally (PM Rally), Republic Day (RDC), Trekking and Mountaineering, Skiing, Water Sports, Adventure Sports, Youth Exchange Programme and the prestigious Republic Day Parade. NCC training enables its cadets obtain 'B' Certificate after two years and 'C'  Certificate after three years of training.
NCC at Lkshibai College has, over years, produced many responsible citizens, few of whom have been serving the nation at various prestigious levels. One of our cadets, Lt. Juhi Sharma has been commissioned in the Indian Army through NCC , JUO Caroline Kasar has recently cleared the SSB, while ANO Lt. Seema Kaushik has been awarded with the Director General's Commendation Card.Consistent and remarkable performances by NCC have enabled Lakshmibai college to the best in Delhi Directorate.
NCC in our college has overtime earned many accolade for the college. Our cadets stood first in DU's Antardhawani in Drill, won myriad of laurels in various competitions held at different colleges of DU-be it Best Cadet, Drill, Guard, Song, Dance, Rangoli, Line Area or any other activity; attended prestigious camps including Republic Day  Parade, PM Rally, and Thal Sainik Camp beside participating in Army attachments, Para Jumping, Trekking, Firing, Commando Training , NIC, ATC, BLC, ALC, PDC etc. Apart from these we have bee significantly contributing in daily routine activities of the college to ensure smooth functioning at various academic and administrative levels as well as help maintain discipline and decorum of our institution.
